Meet the Team

Meet the talented, caring bunch of professionals that make up the Ōtaki Vets team. Between the 10 of them they have over 100 years of experience in the veterinary industry, so rest assured your treasured pet is in great hands!

Angela Ford Otaki Vets

Angela
Veterinarian

Angela is one of our veterinary surgeons, who trained in Edinburgh and graduated in 1984. She then moved to New Zealand and Ōtaki in the early 90’s. She has a special interest in surgery and has gained her membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. Angela also enjoys flying light aircraft, tramping and plays the clarinet and saxophone. She lives on a small holding with sheep, cattle and two very spoilt cats.

Maria Lombard Otaki Vets

Maria
Veterinarian

Maria is passionate about small animals and loves that no two days are the same as a vet. She is married and has two children (both finished with school), four cats and Daisy, her dog that comes to work. On her off days she likes to do yoga, taking photos and is a member of the tramping club.

Graham Kirker Otaki Vets

Graham
Veterinarian

Graham has been a vet for 50 years! He has owned his own practice and has been a familiar face around Ōtaki for years. Working for us part time, he has an immense amount of knowledge and skill that has been built up and perfected over many years. He loves all animals great and small and looks forward to meeting his old clients and the new ones every day.

Olivia
Veterinarian

Olivia is a small-town Kiwi girl, originally from Pahiatua. She completed her veterinary degree at Massey University in 2007 and has worked in mixed practice throughout the Waikato. She now focuses her expertise solely on small animals, with special interests in ophthalmology, ultrasound and cytology. Olivia lives locally with her husband, children and various animals. You’ll be able to catch her at Ōtaki Vets on Thursdays, Fridays and some Saturdays.

Hannah
Veterinarian

I have recently graduated from Massey University and have been working in a busy companion animal vet clinic in Paraparaumu for the last 7 months. My husband and I, having been living in Ōtaki for the last 6 years, absolutely love the area (beach, river, op shops, fish ’n’ chips – what more could you ask for!). My vet interests lie in surgery, cytology, and dermatology. Outside of work, I love chilling with my 4 crazy cats and relaxing with a good magazine and glass of wine, especially when the sun is shining.
